Edita launches new product, adds EGP 62m production line

Cairo – Mubasher: Edita Food Industries on Monday announced the launch of new fruit-flavoured sweets brand, BonBon, at a price of EGP 2 per package.

The new product will be manufactured at E15 factory in the Upper Egypt governorate of Beni Suef, the leading food firm said in a statement.

The company has also added a new production line operated by cutting-edge technologies at a cost of EGP 62 million, according to the statement.

Moreover, Edita has signed an agreement to buy Confindel LTD’s 22.7% stake in Edita Confectionary Industries at a value of EGP 1 million, the statement added.

Accordingly, Edita will hold a 99.98% stake in Edita Confectionary Industries.

In February, Edita posted an EGP 336.8 million in consolidated profits for 2018, versus EGP 243.04 million in 2017, including minority shareholders’ rights.
