Egypt, AFDB ink grant agreement

Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt will receive $500 million from the African Development Bank (AFDB) as the second tranche of the bank’s grant to support the country’s economic and development program before the end of this year, AFDB’s resident representative revealed on Tuesday.

The Egyptian minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr signed a grant agreement with the resident representative of the African Development Bank Leila Mokaddem, in presence of the Egyptian health minister Ahmed Emad Eldin, according to a press release.

The grant is worth $252,000 and comes within the framework of the Egyptian government’s plan to apply the new comprehensive social health insurance system.
