Egypt, Africa trade volume hits $5bn, says El-Sisi

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said trade volume between his country and its African partners reached $5 billion.

The statement came in El-Sisi's opening speech during the inauguration of Africa 2016 business forum that will run from 20-21 in the Red Sea resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh.

The President also stressed that achieving development requires the introduction of joint African work mechanisms, noting that Egypt seeks to complete the land road linking Cairo to South Africa's Cape Town.

He also invited other African leaders and development partners to launch more projects across the African continent.

The event, themed " Africa 2016: Business for Africa, Egypt and the World", is aimed to bolster Egypt's trade ties with other African countries.
