Egypt, Canada ink 3 cooperation agreements

Cairo- Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of international cooperation, Sahar Nasr, signed 3 grants with Canada’s minister of international development, Marie-claude Bibeau, at a value of CAD 30.6 million ($23.8 million), according to the ministry’s statement.

The grants will be in the fields of vocational and technical training, food security, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). No additional information was provided regarding the grants’ distribution.

Nasr represents Egypt in the Montreal International Conference in Canada on 13-16 June, which is held under the auspices of the International Economic Forum of the Americas, the biggest economic forum for the Americas.

Since 1976, Canadian aid to Egypt reached CAD 1.160 billion ($874.13 million) in the form of grants, loans, food aid and commodity exports.
