Egypt, China negotiate to increase weekly flights

Cairo – Mubasher: The chairman of the domestic tourism sector at the Egyptian Tourism Authority, Adel El-Masry, said on Monday that Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation and China are in talks to operate three flights a week between Cairo and Shanghai, according to the Middle East News Agency (MENA).

Negotiations also included three weekly flights between Cairo and Beijing and daily flights between Cairo and Guangzhou, El-Masry revealed during the speech he delivered on behalf of the minister of tourism Mohamed Yehia Rashed at the 2017 China-Arab States Expo, held in Yinchuan.

Moreover, various flights operating between Chinese cities and Luxor, Hurghada, and Aswan have been also discussed, El-Masry added.

Egypt has taken steps to ease the visit of Chinese citizens, including alleviating the procedures of giving travel visas to Chinese passport-holders when they arrive at Egyptian airports and restructuring travel programmes to suit the Chinese traveller’s requirements, he highlighted.
