Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt and Germany have agreed on pushing forward procedures for implementing financing programme worth EUR 89 million as part of the 2019 framework agreement, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Wednesday, citing the Egyptian Ambassador to Germany, Khaled Galal as saying.
The funding will be directed to economic and social development plans for the establishment of major projects aiming at improving Egypt’s capabilities in vocational education, management of water resources, irrigation, sanitation, e-government, innovation in general management, and enabling small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to access financial services, Galal added.
The two sides are currently working on finalising procedures for additional funding of EUR 132.5 million in grants and financial contributions as part of the cooperation programmes for 2020.
