Egypt, Italy eye EUR 2m school feeding project

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s investment minister Sahar Nasr was in talks with Italy’s ambassador to Cairo Giampaolo Cantini over an EUR 2 million school feeding project.

Both parties discussed mutual cooperation between both countries and the Italian funded projects in Egypt.

It is worth mentioning that both countries are currently working on completing the second phase of the Italian-Egyptian Debt Swap Programme’s projects.

The total value of the support programme, which will be carried out in 2018, amounts to EUR 35 million, and will be presented by the Italian Development Cooperation, the Italian ambassador noted.

Both Nasr and Cantini have considered new initiatives to bolster disabled people and youth to prevent illegal immigration and agricultural industries.

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) had previously posted that foreign direct investment (FDI) in Egypt surged 14.5% to $7.9 billion in fiscal year 2016/2017 from $6.9 billion.
