Egypt, Italy pen EGP 360m contract to set up 10 wheat silos

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt and Italy signed an EGP 360 million contract to establish ten vertical silos in the most populous Arab nation and apply information and communications technology (ICT) to improve wheat management practices. 

The deal came as part of the third phase of the Italian-Egyptian debt for development swap programme, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation on Thursday.

Under the contract, ten vertical silos will be established by the Egyptian Holding Company for Silos and Storage in the top wheat producing governorates: Sharkia, Menoufia, and Minya.
