Egypt, Russia ink agreement to launch El Dabaa nuclear power plant

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt and Russia on Monday signed an agreement to execute El Dabaa nuclear power plant during a meeting between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Cairo, according to Egyptian state media.

The new plant will cost Egypt $21 billion, The Russian’s State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM) revealed.

Egypt’s and Russia’s presidents will sign an agreement include El Dabaa plant’s contracts and the resumption of Russian flights to Egypt, the Egyptian Presidency’s spokesperson stated.

The new nuclear project is expected to yield $264 billion within its 60-year lifespan
