Cairo – Mubasher: Bilateral trade between Egypt and Singapore has reached $1 billion, Singapore's Ambassador to Egypt Dominic Goh revealed.

Trade between the two countries focused on consumer and agricultural products, Goh revealed in a statement released by the Egyptian cabinet on Wednesday.

This came during the ambassador’s visit to the Egyptian minister of local development Mahmoud Shaarawy.

He further revealed that the value of Singaporean investments in Egypt recorded $500 million, noting that Egypt has been of the first countries to recognise Singapore’s independence.

The two sides also discussed the possibility of cooperating with Singaporean experts on the disposal of solid waste and untreated effluent.
