Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) signed a funding agreement worth $6 million.
The deal covers the second phase of the North Sinai development programme, bringing the total value of funding to the programme to $56 million, according to a statement on Monday.
The programme includes digging water wells in Al-Rawda Village in North Sinai, setting up water desalination plants, building a fish farm, and supporting transportation services in the country as part of the government’s efforts to improve living standards in Sinai.
The agreements aims to provide potable water to about 300,000 people and sanitation services to around 100,000 people, in addition to developing infrastructure and supporting the neediest citizens, the investment minister Sahar Nasr said.
