Cairo – Mubasher: The minister investment and international cooperation, Sahar Nasr, on Wednesday said that Egypt and Vietnam have agreed to sign eight memoranda of understanding (MoU) during the joint Egyptian-Vietnamese committee held for the past two days.
This committee has not been held since 2008, but its work is currently validated to achieve its required results, Nasr added in a statement on Wednesday.
This came in line with the minister’s and the chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Mohab Mamish’s meeting with Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc in his office in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi.
The minister highlighted that Egypt is looking for mutual exchange between both countries regarding various sectors, inviting Vietnam to invest in Egypt during the next period, especially in developing the Suez Canal and fish farming.
Similarly, Mamish is seeking economic cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of ship construction, pharmaceuticals, and food, in addition to the inauguration of new opportunities for investment in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
