Egypt, WB expand gas connection project

Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt and the World Bank agreed on Saturday to increase the number of governorates covered by the Household Natural Gas Connection Project from 11 to 20, according to the international cooperation minister Sahar Nasr.

The minister met with a delegation from the World Bank that also included representatives from the French Development Agency (AFD) and the European Union (EU), discussed the project that aims at connecting natural gas to 2.4 million homes within 4 years, according to a press realease.

Egypt’s Natural Gas Connection project is funded by $500 million from the World Bank, as well as EUR 68 million and EUR 70 million grants from the EU and the AFD respectively.
