Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of investment and international cooperation has met with a delegation from the World Bank, where the two sides discussion a possible second loan worth $500 million for a social housing project as well as support for developing the Sinai peninsula.
Sahar Nasr confirmed the importance of the World Bank’s continued support for Egypt’s housing sector, particularly social housing, which she said was a priority for President AbdelFattah El-Sisi.
Nasr and the World Bank delegation discussed an additional $500 million loan for the social housing project, which the World Bank had already contributed $500 million to. The bank also praised the project’s success.
The Egyptian government is continuously implementing its programmes to provide suitable housing for Egyptians at reasonable prices, the minister said in a statement, highlighting the importance of the sector, its benefit to investors, and its role in achieving sustainable development.
