Egypt-India bilateral trade hits $1.4bn in 4M

Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and India rose by 11.2% year-on-year to $1.4 billion during the first four months of 2019.

Egypt’s trade deficit with India increased by $382 million in the January-April period of 2019, according to a report released by the Egyptian commercial representation office in India.

Over the four-month period ended 30 April, the North African nation’s oil and non-oil exports to India went up 10%, the report added.

Egypt’s oil exports to India soared to $304.39 million in the January-April period from $276.27 million in the year-ago period, while non-oil exports registered $199.6 million, up from $181 million.

Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from India grew by 12% year-on-year to $886 million in the first four months of 2019, compared to $791 million.
