Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and India totalled $3.6 billion (EGP 63.45 billion) annually, state news agency MENA reported on Wednesday, citing head of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) Mohamed El Sewedy.
The FEI seeks to expand trade between both countries, El Sewedy affirmed.
This came on the sidelines of a meeting between El Sewedy and the Indian ambassador to Cairo Sanjay Bhattacharyya to discuss joint investment opportunities.
The number of Indian firms operating in the North African nation has increased over the past three years to 50 companies with total investments worth $3 billion, Bhattacharyya said.
The Indian ambassador noted that India is the tenth biggest trade partner for the Arab world's most populous country, pointing out that only three Egyptian firms are operating in India.
