Egypt PM reviews preparations for China President’s visit

Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail headed a meeting Monday with the Cabinet’s economic ministerial committee, at the presence of central bank governor Tarek Amer and ministers with economic portfolios.

The meeting deals with several agenda items, mainly reviewing preparations for the Chinese President’s upcoming visit early next year.

It also discussed progress in several projects in energy sector, including Ataqa power plant, and coal-powered energy stations in Al Hamrawein, in addition to bolstering the national electricity grid.

Moreover, the meeting reviewed developments as regards projects in the transportation sector.

The ministers looked into estimates for the overall public investments targeted in the medium-term plan for 2016/2018.
