Egypt State Council done reviewing VAT Law - MoF

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian deputy finance minister for tax policies, Amr  El Mounir, said that the State Council has finished reviewing the executive regulations of the Value-Added Tax (VAT) Law.

The regulations will reach the ministry within a day or two, El Mounir told Mubasher on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has answered to all of the State Council's notes regarding the law, all of which were concerned with the wording of some of its articles that were clarified, he indicated.

El Mounir added that the regulations will be presented to the minister of finance, Amr El Garhy, in order to issue an immediate ministerial decision.

Returns from the VAT surged to EGP 21 billion in January 2017 compared to EGP 9 billion in January 2016, El Mounir had previously revealed.
