Egypt-US bilateral trade hits $5.6bn in 2017 - Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and the US rose by 13% year-on-year in last year, state news agency MENA reported, citing Egyptian trade minister Tarek Kabil.

Egypt-US bilateral trade recorded $5.6 billion in 2017, compared to $4.97 billion a year earlier, Kabil added.

American investments in Egypt amounts to $2.4 billion now in 1,222 projects in the industrial, services, constructions, financing, agricultural, telecommunications, and information technology, he indicated.

The US investment in Egypt accounts for 35.4% of American direct investments in Africa and makes up 46.2% of American investments in the Middle East.
