Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and the US increased by 14.71% year-on-year during 2019, according to recent data by the Egyptian Commercial Service.
Bilateral trade between the two countries reached $8.638 billion last year, compared to $7.53 billion in 2018, data showed.
The Egyptian exports to the US market surged by 27.12% to $3.153 billion in 2019 from $2.48 billion in the previous year.
Exports included textiles, ready-made garments, plastics, fertilizers, aluminium, glass, vegetables, iron and steel products, and fruits.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian imports from the US grew by 8% to $5.485 billion last year, compared to $5.05 billion in 2018.
