Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and the US rose by 35% year-on-year, or $1.499 billion, during the first ten months of 2018.
Non-oil trade between the two countries recorded $5.75 billion during the January-October period of this year, versus $4.25 billion in the year-ago period, according to a report by the General Organization for Export & Import Control (GOEIC).
Bilateral trade between Egypt and the non-Arab African countries grew by 21%, or $369 million, at the end of October, registering $2.11 billion, compared to $1.74 billion.
Moreover, trade exchange between Egypt and the Arab countries reached $11.50 billion during the ten-month period ended October, up 13% or $1.32 billion from $10.18 billion in the year-ago period, the GOEIC added.
Meanwhile, trade exchange between Egypt and the European Union (EU) increased by 8.6% to $23.53 billion, compared to $21.65 billion in the corresponding ten-month period of 2017.
