Egypt achieves 3.9% growth in Q3-FY16/17

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian economy has recorded a growth rate of 3.9% during the third quarter of fiscal year 2016-2017, compared to 3.6% in the same quarter last year, according to the minister of planning, monitoring and administrative reform.

Hala El Said noted on the sidelines of a conference on the role on Education in achieving sustainable economic development that the growth rate went up by 0.1% compared to the previous quarter.

The minister added that the economic performance indicators will be revealed next week.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently lowered its forecasted annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate for Egypt from 4% to 3.5%.
