Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian ministry of investment and international cooperation signed on Tuesday an agreement with the World Bank Group (WB) to support the development of the healthcare sector with $530 million.
The agreement aims at enhancing the national healthcare strategy, especially when it comes to universal healthcare and combating hepatitis C, Minister Sahar Nasr said in an official statement.
Meanwhile, minister of health Hala Zayed said revealed that a nationwide campaign targets covering 45 million people, in order to treat around 1.5 million cases from hepatitis C, as well as to carry out regular checks for noninfectious diseases.
The project will also help increase the quality of health services in 600 units and 27 hospitals in 10 governorates in the first phase.
