By Mahmoud Salah Eddin

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s government is seeking to implement a strong and fair taxation system that achieves the fiscal and economic purpose, said Finance Minister Hany Kadry Dimian.

Speaking to a conference held today in Cairo, the minister added that development projects are pivotal in economic reform, along with structural reform for economic policies.

The minister also stated that the Suez Canal is now turning into an investment zone instead of being a military one.

He added that value-added tax (VAT) is an indirect tax imposed on all services and commodities except for those expressly exempted.
