Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s local development programmes have hiked in value by 22% in 2019/2020 state budget, Akhbar El-Yom newspaper reported, citing the country’s planning minister as saying.
Local development programmes amounted to about EGP 11 billion in the coming fiscal year, Hala El-Saeed added.
Planned investments are expected to grow by 40% during FY19/20, El-Saeed noted.
In addition, the country plans to allocate EGP 18 billion to wastewater programmes in FY19/20, up from EGP 13.8 billion in the current fiscal year, she revealed.
About 37%, or EGP 5.2 billion, of these investments will be directed to the Upper Egypt governorates.
