Egypt allocates EGP 18.5bn to social security programmes

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government has allocated EGP 18.5 billion to social security plans including Takaful and Karama (solidarity and dignity) programme for fiscal year 2019/2020.

About 3.8 million families will benefit from these programmes, Egypt’s finance minister Mohamed Maait said in a statement on Monday.

Moreover, the most populous Arab nation has allocated EGP 351 million to student medical insurance, EGP 166 million to medical insurance for women breadwinners, and EGP 277 million to preschool children.
