Cairo – Mubasher: The total value of Egypt's government investments rose by 26% year-on-year (YoY) during fiscal year 2019/2020, covering education, health, transportation, housing, industry, irrigation, and local development.
An amount of EGP 18 billion has been allocated to water and wastewater sectors, representing 10% of total government investments, the Minister of Planning, Hala El-Saeed said in a statement on Thursday.
Egypt’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3.5% in FY19/20, down from a previous forecast of 5.8%, pressured by the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, the minster added.
