Egypt allocates EGP 242bn for women in 18M

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt allocated a total of EGP 242 billion for women beneficiaries during the period from July 2018 to December 2019, the country’s minister of planning and economic development Hala El-Saeed said, according to the Middle East News Agency (MENA).

During the mentioned period, Egyptian women received EGP 14 billion in social solidarity pensions, EGP 3.4 billion in medical treatment expenses, EGP 43.5 billion worth of subsidised commodities, EGP 133 billion in wages and compensations, and EGP 42 billion worth of subsidised fuel, she added.

In addition, women accounted for 46.5% of total micro- and small funding at a total value of EGP 3.8 billion, she pointed out.
