Egypt allocates public investments worth EGP 9.6bn for El-Qalyubia

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced the allocation of EGP 9.6 billion in public investments to El-Qalyubia governorate in the fiscal year 2020/2021 plan.

These investments represent 3.6% of total public investments directed to the country’s governorates in the current fiscal year, the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Saeed, said in a statement on Sunday.

The total number of development projects in the governorate reached 301, she added.

Public investments reached EGP 5.5 billion (57.1%) in the housing sector, EGP 994 million (10.3%) in the petroleum and mineral resources sector, EGP 822.5 million (8.6%) in the transport sector, EGP 512.9 million (5.3%) in the local development sector, EGP 375 million (3.9%) in the higher education sector, and EGP 1.4 billion (!4.6%) to other sectors.
