Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Finance approved urgent financial allocations of EGP 6 billion to several state-run bodies during July.
Allocations include EGP 4 billion to the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), in addition to EGP 400 million for the purchase of local wheat during the 2020 harvest season, according to a statement on Sunday.
The finance ministry also approved an allocation of EGP 220 million to the National Media Authority to meet the financial obligations towards the employees and EGP 50 million to the National Press Authority.
In addition, an amount of EGP 7.4 million has been allocated to the Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation to finance subsidised subscriptions for students, martyrs’ families, and people with disabilities.
The allocations also include EGP 335.8 million to the Egyptian National Railways and EGP 149.9 million to support the transport of passengers.
Moreover, the finance ministry allocated EGP 500 million to the Ministry of Manpower to pay the third tranche of the exceptional aid for irregular workers, EGP 120 million to the Cotton Textile Industries Holding Company, and EGP 195.9 million as a contribution to the company’s capital.
