Egypt approves EGP 8.7bn urgent allocations in January, February

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Finance approved urgent financial allocations of EGP 8.7 billion to several authorities during January and February.

The allocations included EGP 8 billion to the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), according to a statement on Monday.

The finance ministry also allocated EGP 59.5 million to the Egyptian National Railways (ENR) and EGP 33.1 million to the Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation to finance subsidised student subscriptions.

Moreover, the allocations included EGP 125 million to the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) and EGP 118 million to the Health Insurance Organization to support students, women breadwinners, and preschool children.

Additionally, the finance ministry allocated EGP 256.6 million to the National Media Authority and EGP 5.2 million to the Supreme Council of Culture to meet their financial obligations towards the employees.

Furthermore, a total of EGP 196.9 million was allocated as a contribution to Cotton & Textile Industries Holding Company in order to provide the required liquidity to pay the dues of employees.
