Egypt awards construction of EGP 30bn logistic-trade zones

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Internal Trade Development Authority (ITDA) has awarded the construction of six logistic-trade zones to a number of investors and developers at a value of EGP 30 billion.

The zones are located in the governorates of Fayoum, Monufia, Sharqia, Luxor, Beheira, according to a statement by Egypt’s supply ministry on Wednesday.

The government will offer other six new contracts in a bid to cover 63% of the country or 17 governorates out of total 27 in less than two years with a total area of 340 acres, the chairman of ITDA said.

Ibrahim Ashmawy stressed that ITDA has offered and awarded six investment projects in six governorates for the first time since the establishment of the authority.

Ashmawy added that almost 14 local, regional, and foreign companies have taken part in the bid.

Trade business has covered 11 governorates out of total 27, he pointed out.
