Egypt begins pumping natural gas from Zohr field

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of petroleum and mineral resources, Tarek El-Molla announced on Saturday the beginning of pumping natural gas from the Zohr field in the Mediterranean Sea to a processing unit in the city of Portsaid.

Initial production is at around 350 million cubic feet per day, the minister noted.

El-Molla indicated that the gas is pumped into the new station before it is delivered to the national gas grid, according to the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
