Egypt bourse closes on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices closed on mixed note on Tuesday, amid selling pressures by institutions.

The benchmark index EGX30 inched down 0.5% or 53.8 points to close at 1,0640.57 points.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 slide 1.02% to close at 419,58 points, while the broader index EGX100 added 0.02% to close at 989.59 points.

The equal weighted index EGX50 advanced 1.14% to close at 1,688.57 points.

The market witnessed 731.3 million changed hands worth EGP 1.76 billion.

The market capitalization shed EGP 2.25 billion reaching EGP 522.1 billion.

Foreign and local investors ended as net buyers with EGP 79.1 million and EGP 7.6 million respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 86.7 million.

Institutions ended as sellers with EGP 113.1 million, while retail investors ended as buyers.
