Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange indices slipped in Tuesday’s early trade, pressured by the selling activity of foreign and Arab traders.
At 11:30am, the main index EGX30 fell by 2.24% or 149 points to reach 6,486 points.
CIB, OTMT, Orascom Construction, TMG, Global Telecom, Qalaa, EFG-Hermes, Palm Hills, Porto Group and Emaar Misr stocks fell by percentages ranging between 2% and 5%.
The equal-weighted index EGX50 lost 1.78% or 1,138 points, while the small and mid-cap index EGX70 edged lower by 1.08% to 370 points and the broader index EGX100 sagged 0.97% to 757 points.
Traded volume amounted to 97 million shares, exchanged in 7,500 trades at turnover reaching EGP 193 million.
Foreign and Arab traders were net sellers by EGP 36.5 million and EGP 2 million in a row, while nationals were net buyers by EGP 38.5 million.
