Egypt bourse on mixed note at open

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange started Monday's trading session on a mixed note amid Arab and national buying activity.

The benchmark index EGX30 declined 0.12% to 8,340 points by 11:00am Cairo time.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 rose 0.15% to 341.3 points.

The broader index EGX100 and equal-weighted index EGX50 were lower 0.5% and 0.10% respectively.

National and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 10.2 million and EGP 2.5 million, while foreigners were net sellers by EGP 12.7 million.

Trading value reached EGP 70.5 million after 46.8 million shares were traded.

MubasherTrade Research said the market's index closed at 8,357 point after falling from 8,400 points on selling activity in the second half of the session.

The research firm expects further decline to take place today, advising traders "to ease off as long as the index hovers below 8,480."
