Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday in green, as the benchmark EGX 30 grew 0.35% or 25.6 points to the level of 7,442.7 points, backed by local purchases.
The EGX 70 index also rose by 0.08% to 369.9 points, the equal-weighted EGX 50 leapt 0.5% to 1,391.4 points and the EGX 100 increased 0.15% to 776.9 points.
CIB declined 0.62% to EGP 42.11, while Global Telecom rose 2.6% to EGP 3.10 and EFG Hermes advanced 1.12% to EGP 10.86.
Early trading saw a turnover of EGP 26.6 million.
Purchases by Egyptian investors reached EGP 1.4 million, while foreign and Arab investors sales came to EGP 1.3 million.
South Valley Cement, Global Telecom, Arab Drug, Egyptian Iron and Steel and Orascom Hotels and Development were the best performing stocks.
Meanwhile, the red list was topped by Electro Cable, Al Ahli Development and Investment and CIB.
The EGX 30 index fell yesterday by 1.04% or 77.7 points to the level of 7,417 points.
