Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s budget deficit declined to 9.5% in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2016/2017 from 11.5% in the prior-fiscal year period, president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said during his speech at the annual meeting of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) held in Sharm El Sheikh, according to a statement.
Last July, the Egyptian minister of planning, follow-up, and administrative reform Hala El-Said said that Egypt’s primary budget deficit ranges between 10.4% and 10.5% of gross domestic product (GDP) of fiscal year 2016/2017 ended 30 June.
