Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt maintained the US dollar exchange rate (XE) at Tuesday's FX regular auction, said a treasury officer preferred to remain anonymous.
The exchange rate still stands at EGP 8.78 per US dollar, the source added.
According to the National Bank of Egypt, the US dollar exchange rate is at EGP 8.83 for purchase and EGP 8.88 for sale.
Earlier, the government announced it would issue EGP 121.25 billion ($13.63 billion) in treasury bills and bonds during August, higher 45.6% year-over-year from EGP 83.25 billion ($9.36 billion).
