Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has signed a contract to buy 180,000 tonnes of Romanian and Ukrainian wheat at an average price of $184.7.
The supply process will last for ten days, starting from the fifth of April.
Egypt will receive 120,000 tonnes from Romania and 60,000 tonnes from Ukraine to ensure the state's strategic reserve of wheat, said Khalid Hanafi, Minister of Supply.
GASC imports wheat from global bourses, such as those of Russia, Romania, Canada, France and Argentine, Hanafi said, noting that tenders are awarded to the offers of lowest prices and highest quality.
