Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s ministry of planning, monitoring, and administrative reform announced the implementation of 1,133 projects with EGP 311 billion in investments during the first half of fiscal year 2018/2019 in 20 sectors spread across all governorates.
The agriculture sector saw the execution of seven projects with total investments worth EGP 2.5 billion, the planning ministry added in a statement on Thursday.
The gross domestic product (GDP) in the agriculture sector rose to 3.5% in H1 of FY18/19 with plans to be raised to 3.7% by the end of the current fiscal year.
Egypt has been implementing projects worth EGP 800 billion in the governorates of Sinai and Suez Canal, due to be completed by 2020, the country’s prime minister, Moustafa Madbouly, previously revealed.
