Egypt detects 40 new coronavirus cases

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced that 40 new cases tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) with two new deaths.

The newly-detected cases include 35 Egyptians and five foreigners, the spokesman of the health ministry Khaled Megahed said in a statement late on Monday.

Eight persons of those who tested positive on Monday returned from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah and the rest had contact with cases detected earlier.

The total number of infections reached 166, including 26 recoveries and four deaths, he noted.

All cases are in a stable condition, excluding seven who are in mild condition and two in serious conditions.
