Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is exporting 520 million cubic feet per day (mcfd) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Idku LNG plant, compared to 300 mcfd at the beginning of 2018, a top official has said.
The gas is exported to Malaysia’s Petronas, Royal Dutch Shell, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), and Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), a petroleum ministry official told Reuters.
Egypt’s minister of petroleum pointed out in December that the gas surplus would be exported in the coming period as part of the previously signed contracts.
On Wednesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called on the ministry to speed up the completion of refining projects to reduce the gap between exports and imports.
