Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt exports rose 8.65% while imports declined 10.5% in 2016, according to Reuters.
Non-oil exports increased 7.63% or $1.2 billion to $17.35 billion during the period from January to November 2016.
Trade deficit recorded around $49 billion in the last fiscal year, but the government is currently seeking to reduce it by 50% during the current year.
The government has taken actions to reduce/squeeze/limit the imports since early 2017 such as registering the factories Egypt imported from, amid the currency crisis in the country.
