Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's economy is forecast to grow at 4.4% during 2015/16 compared with a 4.2% growth a year earlier, said Minister of Planning Ashraf El-Araby.
Egypt faces serious economic challenges, namely the losses incurred by tourism industry, said the minister on the sidelines of a conference held on Saturday.
Earlier, he announced that economic growth is expected to reach 5.2% in 2016/17 and 6% in 2017/18.
In May, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) lowered its expectations for the growth of the Egyptian economy in 2016 to 3.3% from 4.3%.
