Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt aims to issue treasury bonds and bills worth EGP 725.15 billion in fiscal year 2019/2020, versus EGP 501.14 billion in FY18/19, data by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) showed.
The government plans to issue T-bills worth EGP 435 billion in the coming fiscal year, versus EGP 350.8 billion this year, the MoF said in a statement.
Moreover, the state considers issuing T-bonds worth EGP 290 billion in FY19/10, versus T-bonds issues of EGP 150 billion in the current fiscal year, according to the ministry’s FY19/20 budget scheme.
Funding requirements for FY18/19 amount to EGP 820.7 billion, versus estimated funding requirements of EGP 650.6 billion for the same year.
The MoF targets issuing debt instruments valued at EGP 148 billion in May.
The ministry is keen on issuing T-bonds worth EGP 7 billion and T-bills worth EGP 141 billion this month.
The MOF previously stated it aims to finance the general budget deficit of EGP 511.2 billion in FY18/19.
