Cairo — Mubahser: The Egyptian planning ministry is setting up an ambitious plan for making structural reforms in the promising value-added sectors, the head of the ministry’s Sustainable Development Unit said.
The ministry gives priority to the industrial sector that will see the implementation of a raft of reforms in a bid to double the industrial growth rate to 10% by fiscal year fiscal year 2021/2022, Howaida Barakat added in a statement.
The scheme also aims to boost industrial export revenues by 20% to $31 billion by the end of FY 21/22 from $15 billion in the previous year, she noted.
The reforms involve boosting the industrial sector’s contribution to the Egyptian economic growth to 23% in FY 21/22.
