Cairo – Mubasher: The net foreign debt of Egypt increased by 41.6% or $23.2 billion year-on-year to reach $79 billion, against $55.8 billion during the fiscal year 2016/2017, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said in its financial stability report for 2016.
The foreign debt remains in the safe limits subject to international standards as it is less than half of the net international reserves, the CBE added.
The foreign reserves rose $107 million to reach $36.143 billion in August 2017, against $36.036 billion in July 2017, the CBE’s date showed.
