Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt will maintain the US dollar customs exchange rate steady at EGP 16 for December, according to finance minister Mohamed Maait.
The ministry of finance said in a statement on Friday that it will free the exchange rate for luxury goods to be in line with that by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Luxury goods include caviar, shrimp, lobster, ornamental fish, parrots, liquor, pet food, cosmetics, cigars, tobacco products among other products that are exempted from customs taxes, as well as imports that have local alternatives.
