Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government collected EGP200 billion in tax revenues during 1 July – 28 April 2016, said Abdel-Moniem Matar, head of Tax Authority.
By the end of tax season, estimated gross tax revenues amount to EGP225 billion, compared to EGP211 billion a year earlier, Matar added.
During the year, the authority has received around 2.13 million individual tax returns worth EGP2.2 billion, compared to 2.1 million ones last year, said Matter, adding that corporations have submitted a total of 180,800 disclosures at EGP7 billion since the beginning of tax season that will end on 30 April 2016.
Earlier, Egypt’s government announced targeting EGP 422.4 billion tax revenues in FY15/16, up from EGP 305.9 billion a year earlier.
